I wonder where you got all the monsters' design from? :D But this is great!!

Oh oh awesome. Seriously awesome. And I have to disagree with Stinkbomber about that arm; I think it's very effective the way it is. You don't notice the arm, it's so thin... then you notice the hand with the heavy bangles... then you see the arm, so that it gives the impression of almost DRIPPING off the figure. The more I look at this, the more I love the design.

heh,it's odd. i never really think about these things when i'm drawing....but people seem to pick up on them.

I'm with you on that one, like how your body almost feels like it's falling apart when you're really hungry. The right hind paw though, looks a little odd though. Like it's only got two toes. XD

Ah, that was because i was trying to draw the foot turning away from the veiw...but i'm guessing that didn't quite work as well as i would have liked ^^; thanks, that really was what i was trying to go for.

Also the positioning of HIS left arm isn't very dynamic - I could barely see it at first. Perhaps if it were also on his spear haft, or better yet, closing the visor of his helmet! (If you had made a full helmet design)

hmm, also another valid point. I was wanting the arm to be slack to give the idea of fatuge cased by lack of food but that could also been shown by having him leaning heavily on the spear with both hands.
damn my lack of dynamics *shakes fist at the heavens*

He'd be freakier without the face!

Only biff.

Yeah. Something is creepy about closed helms...

Other than that he looks great.

i agree, closed hemets are a hell of a lot more imposing but i really wanted to draw the hollow features and the stiched up mouth...
oh well, if i ever revamp these then i'll keep that in mind.

I think what ruins the effect is his sentient features - he looks like he has a soul, rather than being just a devil with a mean streak and no other purpose than RAPE AND PILLAGE WEEEEE STABBY STABBY. So if his face had been rather hollow and soulless, the effect would still be there.

Yeah.

awesome work....i really like the fact this thing is very symetrical in design if you look closely, even though it looks rather alien to the human form :)
